Project Estimator

Job Location: In-Person, Salary: $85,000, Day Shift, Full-Time, Excellent Benefits
Established engineering and manufacturing company that designs, produces, and services performance-critical industrial equipment for global energy and defense markets. They are seeking a Project Estimator to join their team.
Your day-to-day as a Project Estimator:
- Analyze RFQs, technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to determine scope and pricing drivers.
- Develop detailed cost estimates covering labor hours, materials, outside processing, tooling, and overhead for engineered projects.
- Assess manufacturability of parts and assemblies—including CNC machining, welding, sheet metal work, and complex assemblies—to identify production constraints.
- Prepare comprehensive cost breakdowns and proposals, and coordinate with engineering, production, and purchasing to align estimates with capabilities and supplier pricing.
- Support customer negotiations, maintain estimating databases, ensure regulatory documentation and traceability, and assist with post-award cost validation.
Your skills and experience:
- 5+ years of estimating experience in machining, metal fabrication, or precision manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications for tight-tolerance components.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (EPICOR preferred) and strong MS Excel skills for cost modeling and data management.
- Familiarity with regulated quality systems and defense contracting requirements (e.g., NQA-1, AS9100, MIL-SPEC preferred).
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple RFQs and deadlines; U.S. citizenship required.
