Job Location: In-Person, East Syracuse, NY, $27-$36/Hour, Full-Time
Our client is a well-established manufacturing operation specializing in precision metal components and machined parts, and they want you to join their team as a Tool Maker.
Your day-to-day as a Tool Maker:
- Design, fabricate, repair, and modify tooling, fixtures, jigs, and gauges used in manufacturing operations
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and sketches to plan tooling layouts and manufacturing methods
- Set up and operate manual machine tools including lathes, mills, and grinders
- Compute dimensions, determine machining sequences, and select appropriate materials
- Verify part accuracy using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges
- Troubleshoot worn or damaged tooling and make necessary adjustments or repairs
- Support manufacturing and engineering teams during job launches and process improvements
- Maintain quality, safety, and housekeeping standards at all times
Your skills and experience:
- Journeyperson Toolmaker with approximately 10 years of hands-on shop experience
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience using a wide range of precision measuring instruments
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods
