A history of identifying the need and filling it.
In 1982, Hope Coryer and her husband Bob arrived in Plattsburgh. Bob was a contract employee with GE and they quickly observed that there were no local staffing firms for contract employees. Hope and Bob discussed this void in the marketplace and the opportunity to fill it and ETS was created. Since these humble beginnings in the basement of their home on Cumberland Head, ETS has grown considerably to its current standing as one of the largest employers in the Champlain Valley. Hope nurtured and supported ETS for over 30 years with her strong commitment to bettering her community. Hope believed that all of the her employees both inside ETS as well as her contract employees were part of her extended “family.” She has since passed that belief down to her daughter Debbie who took over as President and CEO after Hope’s retirement in 2013. Debbie started her own career in staffing as Director of Operations in 2001. Debbie’s husband Dan and son Jesse joined the company in 2013, solidifying its standing as a truly locally owned and operated enterprise. Hope and Bob take comfort in knowing that they built a company that is vital to their community and will continue to thrive and contribute through the generations.
