Social Responsibility

ETS has a strong commitment to socially responsible business practices at every level. We believe if we act responsibly in everything we do, we benefit our workers, clients and the community at large. We embrace and uphold the highest standard of professional ethics. Because workers and employers are the cornerstone of strong communities, ETS is committed to helping the North Country become a better place to live, work and do business. ETS is a local, family-owned business, and it just makes sense for us to help shape the community in which we live to be a better place for all.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

In a smaller community such as ours, it can sometimes be challenging for employers to find employees with the right skillset to fit the job. Some people face greater challenges than others in finding gainful employment. ETS is committed to facing this challenge head on. We are supportive of several North Country initiatives aimed at creating an educated, diverse and experienced workforce for our growing business community.

  • National Workforce Readiness – Business Advisory Council Member
  • AIME – Assembling Industry: Manufacturing and Education – Founder and Supporter
  • Solid Foundations – Supporter and Partner
COMMUNITY

ETS has always been a strong supporter of local charities. We believe giving back is an important way to show our support for the community we love. Whether it be by sponsoring an event or a direct monetary contribution, ETS believes in initiatives for the public good. Below is a sample of the worthy causes we have been involved in.

  • Plattsburgh Rotary Club
  • CVPH Foundation
  • United Way
  • American Heart Association
  • Christmas Bureau
  • Planned Parenthood
  • Humane Society
  • Plattsburgh Half-Marathon / Team Fox for Parkinson’s-Supporter
SAFETY

We believe in ensuring the safety and well being of our temporary workforce when they are on assignments. We feel it is unacceptable for even one of our employees to be injured on the job.  While all of our clients are also committed to the safest workplaces, injuries do occur occasionally. ETS aggressively tracks worker injuries and treats each case with the care it deserves. We routinely visit clients’ facilities to assess the working conditions and when needed, we rely on the services of trained workplace inspectors to provide thorough inspections.

ENVIRONMENT

ETS has a strong commitment to the environment we all must share.  The North Country has a unique relationship to its environment, from the beautiful Lake Champlain to the majestic Adirondack Mountains. It is important for all of us to work to protect the fragile ecosystem.  ETS has an aggressive recycling program at our offices on the US Oval. All paper is shredded and recycled.  We only print on paper made from 100% recycled material.  We use ecofriendly and phosphate free cleaning products. During the summer of 2011, ETS will even introduce a composting program for its office.
