Meet the Staff

Hope Coryer

Hope Coryer

Hope Coryer – Founder

Hope started ETS in 1982 when she moved to Plattsburgh and needed a job. She started her job search by looking for a local staffing agency, but quickly learned that there wasn’t one. ETS was born in the basement of her home and has been growing ever since. Hope boldly went where no woman had gone before in this region and pushed her way into the “old-boy’s” network – even becoming one of the first women Rotarians. These days she sits on many boards and has become a strong advocate for local business growth. As a result of her perseverance and hard work, ETS is now known as the premiere staffing agency in the region and is a well respected member of the business community. Now that she has stepped back from the day to day operations of ETS, she has time to focus on her 9 grandchildren, her home oasis and travel.

Debbie Cleary

Debbie Cleary

Debbie Cleary – President/CEO

In her new role as President and CEO of ETS, Deb is responsible for leading the profitable growth of the company while maintaining the values and standard of service that have been foundational for the company’s success.

Debbie joined the family business in 2001 and has held many roles including IT manager, CFO and Director of Operations. It is important to Debbie that ETS, a Certified Woman Owned Business, continues to develop a solid team of committed staffing professionals who, together with the management staff, will help ETS to reach its fullest potential.

Not one to sit idly for any length of time, Debbie and her husband Dan Albert also started a “fun” outside project called Urban Soles, a shoe store in downtown Plattsburgh. When she isn’t buying for the store or presiding over ETS, Deb can be found on her yoga mat, sailboat or bike or just enjoying time with her 2 grown sons and husband.

Dan Albert

Dan Albert

Dan Albert – Director of Operations/CFO

While Dan has been a member (by marriage) of the Coryer clan for almost 10 years, he is new here at ETS. Dan joined the team in May, 2013 as the new CFO and Director of Operations. Dan brings valuable financial and operational insight to ETS. In the coming months and years he’ll be tackling cost management initiatives, strategic planning and risk management as well as exploiting new growth opportunities and organizational development.

Dan spent over 10 years working in Fixed Income markets on Wall St and in San Francisco, during which time he earned an MBA from Rutgers University. After moving back to the Northeast in 2001, he spent 12 years as CFO of 2 manufacturing companies before joining ETS.

Outside of work, Dan has a varied and interesting repertoire of beloved activities and all the helmets to match. Rock climbing, biking, motorcycling, backcountry telemark skiing, sailing and even slack-lining keep him balanced and his mind off the bottom line.

David Croyer

David Coryer

David Coryer – Director of Staffing Services

With nearly 15 years of staffing industry experience, David Coryer is a key leader in the top quality staffing services for which ETS is widely known. Whether he is focusing on entry-level roles or key executive searches, David spends his time running down qualified candidates, providing career advice, dispensing interview tips, and advising client companies on hiring best practices.

As ETS has always been a community minded organization, David continues that tradition through the following: Board Member-United Way, NWRC Business Advisory Council Member, founder/member AIME & IMPACTT pre-employment training programs, member Vision2Action, participant in CCC’s Thrive Initiative and Strictly Business Magazine Advisory Board Member.

Outside of work, David can be found doting on his wife Elizabeth, their two children Lukas & Rhys and their dog Sarah.

Mark R. LaFountain

Mark R. LaFountain

Mark R. LaFountain – Manager of Sales & Marketing

Face to Face Solutions is more than a tag line at ETS, it is at the core of how we do business. When our then-intern, Ryan Buck brought Mark LaFountain to our attention, we quickly realized that we had the ideal individual to provide our clients the care and attention that is critical to a successful staffing operation. A native of the area and seemingly related to half the population, Mark spends his time conducting face-to-face visits with both existing and prospective clients and bringing insight and business opportunities to our staffing teams. Mark’s impact on ETS is already very evident and sure to be lasting. Mark and his wife Noelle reside in their comfortable stone house near Chazy Lake where they enjoy the all too-occasional company of their three grandchildren.

Phyllis Clookey

Phyllis Clookey

Phyllis Clookey – Payroll Supervisor

“On each and every Thursday, I’m the most popular employee at ETS…payday!”

Phyllis Joined the ETS team in 2002 as an administrative assistant. Her attention to detail and loyalty to ETS catapulted her to the top of the payroll department. She is an indispensible ETS team member. Phyllis is a payroll authority, workers comp guru, disability master, and unemployment expert. When she’s not studying New York state unemployment laws she can be found outside running, hiking, or cheering her daughters on in one of their many sports activities.

Del Rock

Del Rock

Del Rock – Recruiter

“I love finding jobs for those people who most need the help. I get picked on from time to time for my bleeding heart…but my passion is just that – giving people second chances”

Del has been with the ETS team since 1988 and besides Hope, she has been with the company longer than any other employee. Del has seen and done it all in the staffing industry and she could probably write a book about it. Del and Hope have been through a lot together and she remains a loyal member of the ETS family through thick and thin. You could say she is the ROCK we have all come to rely on. It is widely though that by the time Del retires every man, woman, and child in upstate New York will owe their job to her. After a hard day of placing candidates, Del enjoys gardening, bird watching, bowling, and spending time with her family.

Cynthia Lathrem

Cynthia Lathrem

Cynthia Lathrem – Recruiter

“Working with key accounts and watching them thrive under my direction is what I do best. Matching individuals to clients is the challenge that I find most rewarding”

For more than a decade, Cyndie has been a key member of the ETS Team. After a stint in bookkeeping, she found her true niche on the recruiting side of the business. Being a social person, Cyndie always has the lowdown on the who’s who in Plattsburgh. She seems to know everyone and loves to get the scoop in the business world as to who’s hiring, who’s firing, and who might be a good candidate for ETS. Cyndie enjoys traveling, as evidences by her negative balance in her vacation bank, year after year. She also enjoys staying fit on her bike and by running.

Ryan Buck

Ryan Buck

Ryan Buck – Direct-Hire Recruiter

In the summer of 2011 Ryan Buck accompanied his college friend Jesse Cleary-Krell (grandson of Hope Coryer – President / son of Debbie Cleary – Director of Operations) to the North Country to work as an intern at ETS, a role performed by Jesse during summer and school breaks. Under the direction of David Coryer, Ryan and Jesse embraced the challenge, attention to detail and rewards of working in the Direct-Hire division at ETS. Ryan Buck so enjoyed his time at ETS that he asked to return upon graduation from SUNY Geneseo in December of last year. David, Hope and Debbie saw great promise in Ryan Buck and warmly welcomed his return. When Ryan isn’t busy running down the key employees actively sought by the manufacturing clients at ETS, he enjoys golfing, playing pickup hoops at the base oval gym and making the occasional trip to Rochester, NY to regale his parents with tales of newfound success.

Claire Goineau

Claire Goineau

Claire Goineau – Administrative Assistant

Claire has been with ETS since the 1990s. She was first a temp for Empire State Development and after that she was temped at PARC as their first employee. After various other temporary positions she started at ETS as an “in-house” employee. Among many other things, Claire takes the minutes at our weekly staff meetings and she tries her best to keep us on task. In fact she uses her keen knowledge of the cryptic language of short hand to take minutes at meetings all over the North Country. Claire is a member of the Plattsburgh “Inner Circle” and always has the inside scoop, not that she’ll share that information until she’s sure its public knowledge. We at ETS know she’s full of secrets and inside information but know its futile to try and get her to spill the beans! She has given so much good advice over the years, ETS would not be the company it is today without her. In her free time, Claire loves to travel, visit with her children, and grandchildren. Every once in a while you can find her at Anthony’s enjoying a lovely dinner or cocktail with some of her many, many friends.
